Our Story

Ryan,

Stephanie & Parker

Swanson

Ryan Swanson, along with his wonderful wife, Stephanie, are the driving force behind The Cord. Since their marriage in 2021, they've been on a journey to rescue lives ensnared by lust.

The Swansons also serve as the youth and music assistants at Fellowship Baptist Church in Taylors, SC, and run a thriving drone photography business in the same community.

Ryan's personal journey is one marked by Christ's transformation. After battling a porn addiction for twelve years, he was driven to a point of utter desperation just a year before his marriage. In those days of fervent prayer, the Lord made Himself real to Ryan and eventually lead him to Ecclesiastes chapter 4, where the truth of a "threefold cord" resonated deeply within him. Without hesitation, he reached out to two friends, equally seeking a way out of their own struggles, and they established a system of daily accountability based on timeless scriptural principles. As they began to see sustained victory, their enthusiasm became infectious, and accountability groups began multiplying across the nation and even beyond.

In pursuit of a sustainable platform for daily accountability, however, they discovered a void. Texting was too impersonal and phone calls far too time consuming, so Ryan and Stephanie have followed the Lord's clear leading to create their own solution — The Cord App. The response and support has been nothing short of astounding, and now a $50,000 development project is in full swing. The Swanson's goal is that millions of men and women will eventually be freed from a porn addiction through the liberating biblical principles of accountability that are structured into The Cord App.
